Myth: All coffee beans are the same

Truth: No.

But let’s expound.

There are two types of coffee beans. Arabica and Robusta. Then there are over 70 countries that produce coffee. Then within those countries are many individual coffee farms. So Ethiopian Harrar and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe taste distinctly different even though they are from the same country.

At The Front Porch Café we roast only Arabica beans.

Think of Arabica as the rose and Robusta as the dandelion.

Robusta has less stringent growing conditions, it doesn’t care.

Arabica need higher elevations and is more high maintenance.

Hence “Mountain grown” being a desirable catch phrase for coffee.

We get our beans from all the major coffee growing regions of the world. So the next time you go to choose your coffee look and see where it’s from. Try different continents. Try different countries within a continent.

Why?

Because, all coffee beans are not the same.

What’s Up?

Arbor Day, April 29th

Plant a tree or two or three!

Maybe try growing coffee!

Love the rose vs dandelion analogy! Makes perfect sense why Arabica is preferred. Will definitely explore different regions next time I pick up coffee beans. If you like to read coffee-related info here is the article you must read: https://coffeeorbital.com/best-costco-coffee/
