September 20th and 21st....Save the Date!!!

These days give us a great opportunity to help make a difference in our own world and the bigger one!

On the United Nations calendar of International Days the 20th of September is World Clean-Up Day.

Okay, we can’t clean up the whole world that day but we can start habits to clean up our corner of it.

Bill Williams, the dad of my friend I grew up with, always said “pick up one piece of trash a day”. So, if it is lying in the road, on the floor of a store, anywhere and you see it go ahead and pick it up and throw it away. That will make a difference.

Also on the UN calendar is the International Day of Peace on the 21st.

We could all use a little more peace!

Again, we may not be able to affect all the world but we can manage our own. Take that day to make sure you are at the very least not ornery and unpleasant. Remind yourself that it is more important to be kind than anything else.

The motto of the UN is “Peace, Dignity and Equality on a Healthy Planet”. That is a wonderful motto to have.

Nationally on the 21st is Coastal Clean-up Day. A perfect opportunity to spend time with friends and family and do something that can help every “thing” on our earth.

So go on, text your pals, talk to the “fam” and make a plan to do what you can to make a difference.
